Welcome
I'm a New Zealand author whose heart also lies in France. My first novel, Alignment, was a love story and a love letter to France. After living there for several years, I'm now settled back in New Zealand, writing heartfelt romantic comedies set in the stunning South Island.
I've also worked as a freelance journalist, but I prefer escaping to fictional worlds, where love always wins out.
Sweet Romantic Comedy
Fake it till you make it!
That’s up-and-coming actress, Cassie Shaw’s mantra. Working on her first big-budget film amongst global stars, she’s having to fully embrace it. But can she pull off her first romantic scene, complete with the perfect kiss?
There’s one teeny-tiny huge problem. She’s never kissed anyone. Who’s going to notice? The director and film crew? The millions of filmgoers who will see the film?
She could do with some help. She didn’t expect it to come from brooding award-winning actor Dylan Thorne. The last time Cassie and Dylan worked together was a total disaster. She messed up on a crucial scene, and he threw a fit about the ensuing rewrites.
Suddenly, Dylan’s an unexpected ally, offering to help Cassie rehearse … and there’s an international rumour that they’re dating.
As Cassie’s life goes completely off-script, her best performance might just be off-screen.
Set in the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, Take Two is a never-been-kissed, fake dating romantic comedy with a sweet hit of chemistry and a happily ever after.
Heartwarming Women's Fiction
France, 1986: three destinies converge at the mysterious standing stones of Carnac.
For Isabeau Martin, the standing stones were the silent companions of her lonely childhood. Now, twenty years later, returning to Carnac to take up the position of Deputy Postmaster, she is once again drawn back to the stones. Feeling like an outsider, she yearns to put her past to rest and start afresh by finding her father, who disappeared when she was a child, leaving Isabeau alone with her mentally ill mother.
On the eve of All Saints’ Day, a parcel from New Zealand arrives at the post office. It contains the ashes of a dead man, and a plea for them to be scattered at the standing stones. Isabeau feels a connection to George Turner. She takes his ashes home and writes back to his son, Joseph. Scattering the ashes at the stones is another matter, however. Before she can do so, Isabeau must confront her troubled past. But now she is not alone; a dead man and a stranger on the other side of the world are helping her create a future and learn to trust in love.
